On June 2, 2025, Gail Keith Harvey, of rural LeRoy, Kansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 8, 1950, at Osborn Clinic in Colony, Kansas, Gail lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion, and hard work. Gail graduated from LeRoy High School in 1968, Flint Hills Technical College, Emporia, KS in 1970 and Friends University, Wichita, KS in 2000. Gail and Carolyn married August 4, 1976 in Iola, KS. Gail was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather whose life centered around the things and people he loved most. He spent the majority of his working years farming and proudly working at Gates Rubber Company in Iola, where he earned the respect of his peers through his steady commitment and work ethic. Gail was active in his community where he served on the board of the Spring Creek township looking after Logue Cemetery for 48 years and the USD 245 School Board for 4 years. He also was a member of the First Christian Church of LeRoy. Gail enjoyed spending his free time hunting/fishing and also coaching his daughters' summer softball teams. In retirement, Gail found joy in simpler things-his hands often busy in the garden or the wood shop, where he built countless pieces with his creativity and care. His craftsmanship, like his character, was solid and enduring. In retirement he also enjoyed the friendship of his breakfast group and his coffee group. Preceding him in death were his parents Charles Earl Harvey and Iris Idell (O'Dell) Harvey; brother Charles Eugene Harvey; sister Joyce Earlene Whipple; brother-in-law, Larry Hess; a nephew, Brian Hess; and an infant niece Jana Harvey. Gail is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Harvey of LeRoy; daughter, Tasha Harvey and husband Andrei Capraru of Los Angeles, CA, daughter, LaNesha Kuhn and husband Tayler of Bonner Springs, KS and cherished grandchildren, Hayes and Jett Kuhn. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Ray Whipple; a sister-in-law, Linda Hess; 5 nephews; and numerous cousins. Though he never sought the spotlight, Gail's presence was a grounding force for his family and community. His life is one to be honored and celebrated for the quiet legacy he leaves behind-of love, labor, and lasting impact. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the First Christian Church in LeRoy, KS. Burial will follow in Logue Cemetery east of LeRoy. There will be no formal visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Logue Cemetery Fund. Please make checks payable to Gail Harvey Memorial Fund and in the check memo write Logue Memorial. These may be sent in care Farmer's State Bank or Jones Funeral Home.
