Galen Wallace Amstutz, 91, of Walnut Creek, passed away peacefully July 19, 2025 at the Inn at Bear Trail in Lewis Center, Ohio following a period of declining health.
Galen was born October 16, 1933 in Kidron, Ohio to the late Albert J. and Della (Gerber) Amstutz.
Galen was proud to have served three years of 1-W service at Marymount Hospital in Cleveland. On June 28, 1958, he married Anna Mae Brown and together they made their home on the "Brown Ridge" family farm near Walnut Creek. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Walnut Creek for many years and later Walnut Creek Mennonite Church.
Galen was a man of strength and hard work, retiring as a welder after 43 years of service at Kidron, Inc. (formerly Kidron Body), continuing with his farm operation until his 85th birthday. He enjoyed his family and his Swiss heritage. In his younger adult years he could be heard singing and harmonizing on the radio with his brothers and sister. The most popular songs requested Sunday mornings on Wooster radio station "WWST" in celebration of birthdays was "Living by Faith", "Each Step I Take", and "I Care Not Today What Tomorrow Will Bring".

The Amstutz family wants to extend their gratitude to the Inn at Bear Trail, and Hospice Care360 for the special care Galen received in his final days. Also to friends and family who helped them through this difficult time.
