Gary Lee Anderson, 72, of Sturgeon, Missouri, passed away on April 10, 2025. While visiting his family in Maricopa, AZ, he suffered a massive heart attack. He passed away at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, AZ.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.

Gary was born on April 19, 1952, near Vandalia, MO., to Forrest and Inez Anderson. In 1972, Gary was drafted in the last lottery for the Vietnam War. He was active in the US Army from 1972 to 1978, then served in the Reserves until 1990. He then worked as a Surgical Instrument Tech at Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO until he retired in 2004.

Gary married the love of his life, Kathryn Marie Anderson, on June 2, 1990. He accomplished many items on his never-ending bucket list, including a vacation to Scandinavia with his wife and youngest son, Eric. Last July, he went to "The Price Is Right" game show with his son, Aaron, daughter, Angie, and grandson, Blake!

Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathryn Marie Anderson. Children, Allen (Patti) Anderson, Angie (Sean) Cochran, Aaron (Tesha) Anderson, and Eric Anderson. One brother, Larry Anderson. Grandchildren, Blake & Shelby Cochran, Krista & Jabe Morgan, Jacob Anderson, Lindsey Anderson, and Joshua Cochran. Great-grandchildren, Berklea Morgan, Lincoln Cochran, and Benjamin Cochran. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Hicks, and brother, Eddie Anderson.

Gary will be remembered for his love for Jesus and his family, and his passion for his country and sports. He was proud and honored to be a Guardian on 3 Central Missouri Honor Flights to Washington, DC.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Central Missouri Honor Flight and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
