Gary Douglas Batti, 81, was born on July 21st, 1943, in Visalia, California. He entered the loving arms of his Lord peacefully at home, on July 3rd, 2025, in Tulare, California, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Maria, four kids Jana Tackett (Doug), Lisa Weatherford (Brad), Eric Batti (Suzanne), and Marci. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren Joshua Tackett (Brianne), Andrew Tackett (Daisy), Caleb Tackett (Mikayla), Kelsee Jensen (Chase), Kylee Weatherford (Shane), Makaylin Batti, Autumn Batti, Trayver Goss, Cambriea Brooks, Brooklynn Gipson, Jillian Cline (Zac), Ivy Holsonbake and 3 great grandchildren Jacob Tackett, Noah Tackett, and Aaron Tackett. Gary leaves behind a sister, many cousins, family and friends whom he loved dearly. Gary enjoyed growing up on his family ranch and farm in Tulare, California. A true farmer at heart, he loved being outdoors. Baseball was one of his favorite sports to both watch and play. He played baseball during his high school years, graduating from Tulare Union High School in 1961 and from the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California in 1963. Gary received a BS in agronomy agriculture crop production from Fresno State University in 1967. He was a Vietnam Veteran after serving two years in the Navy SeaBees. Gary worked as an inspector for seven years with the Tulare County Agricultural Commissioner's Office. In 1977 he was hired as a field representative for Visalia Production Credit Association, which later changed to Farm Credit West, and retired in 2002. He served on the Oak Valley School Board in Tulare, for 27 years. Gary was a very humble, patient and kind Chrisitan man. He was a member of the Church of Christ and showed his love for God by serving others. He adored his wife, Maria of 56 years of marriage, his children and grandchildren, making each one feel loved, special, and cared for. He always had a listening ear, and offered uplifting words of encouragement to those who needed it. Gary believed that LOVE was stronger than hate and strived to be more Christlike each and every day. He was loved by all who knew him and was truly a one of a kind! Services for Gary are as follows: Visitation, Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 5 pm - 8 pm, Sterling & Smith Funeral Home, 409 N.
