Gary Colliver Obituary

Gary Wayne Colliver, 72, of Crab Orchard, KY passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 7, 2025. Born on May 26, 1953 in Lexington, KY to the late Thomas and Emma Patrick Colliver.
Gary was a man whose heart was rooted in the soil of his farm. He found joy and purpose in farming, trading cars and trucks, and remodeling properties. At the peak of his farming career, he cultivated 300 acres of tobacco. When he stepped back from tobacco farming, he raised over 200 cattle. His love for farming was a way of life.
Survivors include his loving spouse of 31 years, Kathy Lee Johnson; two sons, Brent Colliver (Alicia), Brandon Colliver (Kathleen); one daughter, Elizabeth Desha McClure (Grant); two step-children, Joe Preston and Josh Preston (Amber); two brothers, Larry Colliver (Karen) and Len Colliver (Gwen); seven grandchildren, Austin Griffeth, Victoria Colliver, Linley Colliver, Jaxson Colliver, Roxas McClure, Archer McClure and Lylah McClure; five step-grandchildren; two-great-grandchildren, Kyndrix and Kaspen; and his special niece, who was his best friend, Mary Brock; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Emma Colliver.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Mark Yocum officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.
