A dedicated truck driver for many years, Gary took pride in his work and the camaraderie he built on the road. His great sense of humor and love for playful banter made him a joy to be around, often lightening the mood with his quick wit. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Gary's interests were as diverse as his talents. He found great joy in music, which was a constant source of inspiration and solace in his life. He liked the outdoors and spent many happy days fishing and camping with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind. In his younger years, he enjoyed practicing martial arts, and he later discovered a passion for shooting, often indulging in these activities with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Highfill, who stood by his side through all of life's adventures. He leaves behind his children: Amen Highfill, Aaron (John) Brian, and Faye (Tim) Highfill, who carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. His grandchildren, Aaralynn Brian, Caden Brian, and Leon Dever, were the light of his life and brought him immeasurable joy. Gary is also survived by his brothers, Shannon Stone (Lucy), Mark Highfill, and Jim Stone, as well as his sister, Susie Stone, who will always remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Highfill; his mother, Virginia (Mosson) Stone; his step-father, Leon Stone; and four brothers, along with one sister. Each of these departed family members held a special place in Gary's heart, and he is now reunited with them.
