Gary Mason Obituary

Gary Theodore Mason was born on August 18, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to William Christ and Katie James Mason. He was the third son of four boys. He was married to Teresa Ann Rose Mason for just short of fifty-two beautiful years, with whom he fathered five children. Together, they have eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Gary worked in construction for many years, but for most of his life he worked in demolition in Southern California. People who met Gary would agree that he was a talented, hardworking man. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing, home improvement projects, working on cars, and any other work he could get his hands on. In 1993 he completed building his family's home up San Francisquito Canyon in Saugus, California. In 2019 he and Teresa moved to Kanarraville, Utah where he erected his last building, a giant, eye-catching barn. He was gentle, quiet but hilarious, intelligent and loving. Gary passed away at the age of seventy-one on November 13, 2024, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife Teresa, children Tara May (Ed), Chad Mason (Stephanie), Audrie Barker (Brian), Renae Mason, and Andrea Mason. Eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Brothers Ron, Jim and Tom Mason.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 80 South Main Street Kanarraville, Utah 84742 on November 30th, 2024, at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service at the Kanarraville Cemetery.
