Gary Wayne Rose-Scott, born on October 13, 1951, in Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Vidor, Texas. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gary was the son of Wesley Patrick “Red” Rose and Doris Franklin Brown Scott, and he was also shaped by the loving influence of his step-up dad, Gordon Paul Scott Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his daughter, Laura Elisabeth Wright, and his brothers: Gordon Paul Scott Jr., James Ray “Jimmy” Scott, Freddie Eugene Scott, and Charles Robert “Bobby” Scott.

Left to cherish Gary’s memories are his brother Richard Lee Scott and his wife Joyce, and his sister Debra “Debbie” Jackson and her husband Ben. He also leaves behind his cherished dog “Lil Girl,” along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry fond memories of him in their hearts.

Gary was known as a “people person,” always seeking to be where the action was. His lively spirit shone brightly in the many barbecue cook-offs he participated in, his enthusiasm for the TVE, and his love for hunting. He was a longstanding member of the Liberty Elks Lodge, where he contributed to the community and formed lasting friendships.

After dedicating over 25 years to a successful career in banking, Gary retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. His warmth, kindness, and zest for life made a significant impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

As his family reflects on the wonderful memories they shared with Gary, they take comfort in knowing he was dearly loved. A private service will be held for the family, ensuring that his legacy will continue on within their hearts.
