He is also survived by three daughters, Melinda Sue Schroeder-Hall, Jennifer Lynn Hedrick, and Susan Renee (Eddie) Davis; two adopted granddaughters, Heather Schroeder-Johnson and Leighann Marie (Christopher) Schroeder-Mason; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Gary worked and retired after 23 years from Common Wealth Edison. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, antique shopping and spoiling children. Gary never met a stranger. He was also a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Burial will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin, IL. To leave an online condolence you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
