Gary Tupy, age 65, of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at his home in Fort Atkinson.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 207 Church St., Spillville, Iowa, with Rev. Henry Huber presiding. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church.

Gary was born December 10, 1959, to Linus and Rose (Hageman) Tupy in Decorah, Iowa. He was the sixth of seven children. Gary attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Spillville and graduated from Turkey Valey High School in 1978. After high school he worked the family farm and then worked for Wiltgen Construction and Bruening Rock Products. Gary enjoyed his short retirement by taking care of his acreage, fishing, and taking scenic drives of northeast Iowa, stopping from time to time for a coffee and sandwich. Gary will be remembered as a man of few words with a warm smile and a sweet soul.

Gary is survived by his four sisters, Norma (Jim) Coolidge, Eau Claire, WI; Judy (Joe) Kuisle, Rochester, MN; Donna (Bruce) Meyer, Goodhue, MN; and Sharon (Dave) Hackman, Fort Atkinson, IA; one brother, Bob (Joan) Tupy, Calmar, IA; one sister-in-law, Patty (Ron) Krivachek, Fort Atkinson, IA; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as uncles George (Shirley) Tupy and Ed Mikota.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Linus and Rose, and his brother, Jim.
