Gena Louise Fisher, age 62, of Belding, passed away late Thursday night July 3, at New Haven Assisted Living Center in Cedar Springs. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of Emerson Eugene and Patricia (Emmons) Ide, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Grandville High School and continued her education at Montcalm Community College. Gena married Jeffrey Todd Fisher on August 5, 1995, at Fountain St. Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he survives to cherish her memory. She started her career as an Accounts Payable Technician and, through the years, worked her way up to Office Manager prior to leaving her job to focus on her health challenges full-time. Her hobbies and pastimes included crocheting and sewing, and she loved horses, riding them whenever she could.
In addition to her husband, Gena leaves her dear daughter, Alyssa Fisher of Belding and son, Jeffrey (Jessica) Fisher of Harbor Springs, Michigan; siblings, Gary Morey of Bronson, Florida, and Wendy (Jim) Douglas of Belmont; a sister-in-law Sharon Garza of Lowell; brothers-in-law Randy (Grace) Fisher and Danny Fisher of Grand Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Sheila Baillargeon.
