Genevieve Brazon, a beacon of kindness and faith, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at the age of 100, in Sterling, Michigan. Born on November 14, 1924, in Standish, Michigan, Genevieve's life was a tapestry woven with love, devotion, and service.
Genevieve grew up nourished by the close-knit community of Standish, where she graduated from Standish High School. She went on to embrace the roles of a dedicated housewife and mother with grace and joy. On September 10, 1943, she married the love of her life, Louis Brazon, with whom she shared a beautiful journey until his passing. She filled her home with warmth and laughter, raising her daughters Monica Kroczaleski, Paula Smith, Annette (Mark) Berringer, Jeanine (Pat) Johnson, and Louise Brazon-Adams to be strong, compassionate women.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence; she was a proud grandmother to Teresa (Dave) Krzyzaniak, Laura (Paul) Kent, Dawn (Al) Bergeron, Doug (Robin) Kroczaleski, Justina (Shane) Walschinski, Beth (Frank) Harzinski, and Lindsay (Casey) Greer. Each grandchild carries with them her legacy of kindness and faith.
Genevieve's influence extended beyond her family as she was an active member of her community. She guided young minds as a 4H leader and ensured the democratic process as an election worker. Her commitment to her Christian faith was unwavering, and she lived a life that truly reflected her beliefs.
Her enthusiasm for life was evident in her interests, which included gardening, where she nurtured not just plants but the souls of those around her. She found joy in the simplicity of watching hummingbirds and was an adventurous soul, often found mushroom hunting or embarking on travels to explore the world around her.
Genevieve was predeceased by her beloved husband Louis Brazon, and siblings Joanne Lanczak, Helene Senske, Mary Lou Senske, Paul Senske, Julian Senske, and Bernard Senske. She also bid farewell to her son-in-laws Dwayne Adams and Paul Kroczaleski. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving sisters Bernedette Miscisin, Margaret Osier, and brothers Henry Senske and Eugene Senske.
Describing Genevieve is to speak of kindness, friendliness, and a faith-filled spirit. She touched the lives of many with her gentle presence and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Genevieve's life was a testament to the beauty of a well-lived life, brimming with love, service, and the joy of everyday wonders.
Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Tom Held presiding. Friends and family may visit at the church from 10:00 am until time of service.
