George Brown Obituary

North Stonington - George Coggeshall Brown of North Stonington, and Minneapolis, Minn., died April 15, 2025, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughters and their husbands, Stacy and Robb Tuttle of Bozrah, Jennifer and Martin Stoll of Portland, Ore., and Rebecca and Donald Welch of North Stonington; by his stepsons, Richard Bardwell of Brownsville, Vt., and Andrew and wife Sarah Bardwell of Minneapolis, Minn.; and by his nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

George was the majority owner and manager of Wychwood Farms of North Stonington and Stonington. He held many land use and environmental positions in North Stonington and other towns in eastern Connecticut, but George will be best remembered for the extraordinary Thanksgiving turkeys he raised and sold from the farm's milk house.

A memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at North Stonington Congregational Church, Main Street, North Stonington.
