George Michael Eugene Reichert was born on October 29th, 1937 in College Point, Queens. The son of Paul and Rose Reichert, he was the youngest of 10 children. He spent nearly all his life in College Point and was a vital member of the community as shown through his dedication to St. Fidelis Church, St. Fidelis School, Little League and many other volunteer opportunities.
After graduating high school, George joined the U.S. Army for 2 years before returning to College Point where he married Anna Mary Desmond and fathered three sons of his own. He was a doting husband and father who always put family first and is survived by those three sons as well as six grandchildren and one great grandson.
George worked as a data center manager for most of his career and later in life, he decided to return to college; the same year he turned fifty years old, he received his bachelor's degree from Marymount College.
In addition to his family, George's greatest legacy will be his good nature, his kindness, and the joy and humor he brought to all his friends and extended family. He knew everyone in town and everyone knew him. Whether you called him Dad, Grandpa, Uncle George, Mr. Reichert or simply George, you were sure to be respected and loved by him.
He is now reunited with the love of his life, Anna Mary, and will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
