George Fredrick Gall was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI on October 8, 1941, and entered eternal life in Battle Creek, MI on July 4, 2025.
He was raised in St. Louis, MI until his graduation in 1959. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he traveled the world (including a two-year tour of duty in Vietnam). Having received many meritorious medals during his 28-year career, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. He then went to work in corporate life, including EDS (Ross Perot) and later General Motors where he worked in information systems. Most of his retirement years were spent in Lansing, MI, and the St. Louis, MO area until his move to Battle Creek, MI, in 2022. There he resided with Steve and Ade Williams, who lovingly nurtured him physically and spiritually through his journey with dementia. Our family cannot express enough appreciation for the outstanding care they provided George. Also, our thanks goes out to Elara Caring who attended him while on Hospice.
George is survived by his son, Bryant (Debbie) Gall, his two granddaughters, (of whom he was so proud!), Dr. Francesca Gall and Gia Gall. He has two surviving sisters, Lala (Bob) Threloff of St. Louis, MI and Kathy (Randy) Horn of Texas, and his sister-in-law, Terry Gall of Hemlock, MI. His ex-wife, Linda Zell, as well as her sisters and families also survived him. Even through divorce, he remained close with all of them. George has many nieces and nephews who knew and loved his crazy sense of humor; he will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by son, Christopher, in 2023; his parents, John and Helen (Fabiano) Gall; brothers, John, William and James; and sisters, Mary and Virginia.
Cremation has taken place and to follow his wish of returning "home" he will be laid to rest with his son in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis. A private family service will be held at a later date.
