George and his wife Joan loved to travel, they loved going to the Hill Country and Creede Colorado. George taught wood carving while traveling at conventions-and was an extremely talented wood carver and leather worker. George would carve birds and if you didn't know better you would think the birds he carved were real and not carved by hand. He was an award winning carver! After his lengthy time in wood carving he took on the talent of repairing boots for the community of Childress. He repaired boots up until four years ago. George will be deeply missed for all who knew and loved him.
