It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Gigi, and
friend, Georgianna (Georgia) M. Yung of Lake Geneva, WI, who passed away
peacefully on July 19th, 2025, at the age of 98 years Yung. Georgianna was born on
December 21, 1926, in Jordan, Minnesota, to Frank J. Ruppert and Estella K.
Hartmann. She married the love of her life, John Ludwig Yung from Lakeville, MN, on September
22, 1947. Together they had six children. She is survived by four children: Daniel
(Debra) Yung of Macedonia, OH, Diane (Leif) Larsen of South Barrington, IL, Lora
(Larry) Glines of Lake Geneva, WI, and Renee (Chris) Fuller of Franklin, WI, as well as
daughter in law, Judy Yung (widow of Greg Yung) of Apple Valley, MN.
Preceded in death by: Husband John Yung and beloved sons David Yung and Gregory
(Greg) Yung. Georgianna was known as "Gigi" to her 12 grandchildren, and her legacy continues
through 12 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way - each a testament to
the love and life she and Jack nurtured through generations. Georgianna lived a full, beautiful life filled with love, resilience, and a fierce spirit
that touched everyone who knew her. Her family was her heart, and she was the
center of theirs. She loved the outdoors and thrived in any activity near the water - whether it was
boating, swimming, or playing a competitive tennis game or golf round she soaked
up the sun! Her true love in life was her Powers Lake home. She would talk of it often
and famously slalom skied into her 80s. To those who knew her, Georgianna was more than sweet - she was strong,
graceful, witty, and wise. She led life with positivity and strength. She believed in
letting life unfold, often saying, "Whatever will be, will be." And she inspired others
with her quiet reminder that "Life is a picture - paint it well." (Her high school
graduating class's motto) She painted hers with love, laughter, family, faith, and a flair for fashion. Georgia
loved all things travel and lived in many beautiful homes throughout her and Jack's
life together. She had a gift for decorating - sewing many of her own draperies and
creating warm, welcoming spaces in each new place they called home. She never
stopped dreaming, always imagining where she might live next and which new
friends she might meet. Even her last home in Lake Geneva we would see her in the
neighbors yard saying hello and sharing with us who she met! A woman of grace and flair, she enjoyed changing her hairstyles frequently, always
saying, "It's just hair - it can grow back if you don't like it." She never left for an
adventure without her signature coral lipstick tucked into her beloved purse. Thoughtful in the smallest ways, she always kept licorice in the candy drawer for her
family and made sure there was chocolate in her candy dish - even during her final
days. Fresh flowers were essential in her home, and she created beautiful
arrangements until the very end. Each of us now keeps a vase in her memory - a
symbol of the beauty she brought into all our lives. Her legacy is carried forward by the many lives she touched - her children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege to know her. She
taught us how to grow old with a full heart. Rest well, Mom. Rest well, Gigi. You painted your picture so well - and we will carry
its beauty with us always. Mass of Christian burial: 11:00am Thursday, August 7, 2025 at St. Peter's Catholic
Church (1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota. MN), Visitation Wednesday August 6,
2025 from 5:00p-8:00p at White Funeral Home (14560 Pennock Ave, Apple Valley, MN). Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. Donations may be made to St Peter Historic Chapel.
