With heavy but grateful hearts, the family of Gerald Lloyd Gray, Sr, of Henryville, IN, announce his passing on July 10, 2025.
Gerald Lloyd Gray, Sr. was born to Arthur and Alberta Gray at their home in Pekin, IN on October 9, 1931.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Loren and Elvin Gray.
Gerald served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War and held three bronze stars for his valor and exceptional service to his country.
On Thanksgiving day, November 26, 1954, Gerald married Sarah Anna Brown, the love of his life and wife for 46 years, until she passed away in 2001. Gerald married Margaret Thomas in March of 2002.
Gerald and Sarah are survived by their son, Gerald Lloyd, Jr. and two daughters, Terri and Trena. Gerald also had 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
Farming all of his life, Gerald also worked at the Charlestown Ammunition Plant, Morgan Packing Company, and Eastern Airlines. He found great joy in providing for family, neighbors, and friends, and his great love of the outdoors and a mild stubborn streak kept him active all of his years.
Gerald was a man of great faith, reflecting the love of God to many along his journey in life.
Services will be held at Bunker Hill Christian Church on Saturday, July 12, 2025 with visitation from 4-6 pm and funeral to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Bunker Hill Christian Church. Burial to follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
The family would also like to offer a word of thanks and appreciation to the staff at Aseracare Hospice for their compassionate service.
