Gerald Elwood Uhler, 92, of Brevard, NC passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at Mission Hospital.
A native of New Jersey, he was a son of the late Jaroslov Uhler and Susanne Schaffer Uhler. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Joan Uhler, who passed in 2019.
Gerald was a veteran and served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, where he was on the Church Council. He also enjoyed serving his community by being a member of the Oasis Shrine Temple, Transylvania Regional Hospital Auxiliary and Friends of the Library.
He is survived by his son; David Uhler of Raleigh, NC, his daughter Christine (Blaine) Miller of Arden, NC, three grandchildren; Joshua (Irene) Heath, Evan Miller and Bethany Miller.
Funeral services for Gerald will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorials be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, South Carolina, 29605.
