Mrs. Geraldine Edwards Hankins passed away on June 29, 2025, at Simpson General Hospital. She was born on March 3, 1930, to Albert Edwards and Wisie J. Overby Edwards in White Oak, MS.
Mrs. Geraldine was a devoted member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher for over ten years. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed going to D'Lo Water Park and watching the river. One of her favorite things to do was sitting on the front porch and enjoying the peacefulness.
She retired from the State of Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services as a computer analyst.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Wisie Edwards, and brother, Milton Edwards.
Mrs. Geraldine is survived by one son, George H. Hankins (Caroline); daughter, Betty Staines (Steve); grandchildren, Ryan Staines (Shanell), Shanna Kilpatrick (John), Mae Hankins Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kristin Staines, Rylynn Staines, Molly Staines, Bryen Runnels, Keeley Kilpatrick and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Bro. Ted Bowlin and Dr. Tim Parker will officiate the service, with interment following in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
