Gilda Sue (Daugherty) Barnes was born on July 17, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Evelyn Juanita (Vaughn) and Willie Ray Daugherty. She passed away on December 10, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 70.
Gilda was a member of Legacy Baptist Church and she was retired from Lockheed Martin. She enjoyed sewing and she loved horses. She was a devoted mother and Nanny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Ray Daughtery and Evelyn Juanita Robertson; and siblings, Doris, Rickey, and Janis.
Gilda is survived by her children, Chad Ray and wife, Shanda of Marshall, Texas; Stephanie Allred and husband, James of Fort Worth; and Courtney Schurr and husband, Andrew of North Carolina; grandchildren, Alex Maldonado, Will Maldonado, Jamee Allred, Mackenzie Schurr, Kailey Schurr, Kyli Ray, Alex Allred, Andrew Schurr, and Samuel Ray; two great grandchildren, Julianne Maldonado and Callum Allred; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends and church family.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2024 at Azleland Memorial Park located at 850 N. Cardinal Road, Azle, Texas 76020.
