Regina McBroom was born in Dallas, Texas on May 12, 1938 to Fleta and Nathan McBroom. She passed away quietly with love on Monday afternoon September 9, 2024 after having visited with her immediate family. It is a blessing and comfort to know she is at peace in her heavenly home with the lord.
As a child, Gina lived in Fort Worth Texas, briefly moved to Juneau, Alaska before she and her father settled near family in Joshua, Texas where she completed high school. She fell in love with and married Don Bewley from Cleburne, Texas, and they set out to start their own family in Burleson, Texas. Gina was a loving and caring wife of 68 years, an awesome mother, a devoted grandmother and a loving sister in law and "aunt" to many nieces and nephews. She had many close friends who were like sisters (and brothers) who made and shared countless memories. She would be described as a loyal Christian woman who spent most of her life in the church always calling on God for strength and guidance.
A stay at home mom of the 60's until her children were in school, Gina was always an admired role model who provided her children with strong family values. She instilled a solid work ethic by example when she began working outside the home as a secretary for an architectural firm in Fort Worth. She was talented when it came to being a working woman while balancing her responsibilities as a mom. She later took a position in the Billing office at Huguley Hospital.
She loved her beautiful backyard and enjoyed many hours under the crepe myrtles and on the deck. Her house was always wonderfully decorated at Christmas. Family vacations were fun whether in Colorado or on the Gulf coast. She also loved her memorable empty nester driving trip with her husband through the northwest United States.
Gina loved to read and as a young mother, tried her creative hand at ceramics and painting and sewing. Music was a significant part of her life. She was known to attend concerts with her adult kids. As an empty nester she became an avid fan of social media where she absolutely loved communicating with her work friends, family and most especially her classmates from school.
She is survived by Don Bewley; husband of Burleson, Texas Becky (Bewley) and Michael Lewis; daughter and son-in-law of Fayetteville, Texas Robert (Bobby); son of Burleson Brian Bewley of Burleson and his children Nicholas Bewley of Burleson and Jacob Bewley and his fiancé Abby Hicks of Decatur, Texas. Babs Kelsey; sister-in-law of Burleson
Gina's ready smile and caring heart will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to have been a part of her life.
