Gladys Johnson July 19, 1939 - August 4, 2025 Gladys (Williams) Johnson was born July 19, 1939 in Ballinger, Texas to Marion Williams and V'iela Meeks. Raised by her grandmother, Gladys grew up in San Angelo, Texas where she met her best friend and love of her life Travis Johnson. Gladys and Travis lived in Jersey City, NJ, Brooklyn, and Queens, NY, where they raised two daughters, Phyllis and Tonya. Gladys and the family eventually returned to Texas. Gladys's hobby was collecting antique clothing buttons. While a member of the National Button Society, Gladys entered button competitions, winning ribbons for her unique buttons. Gladys was a member of Hilltop Church in Aubrey, Texas where she was a faithful servant. She was a beautiful person with a generous heart and warm spirit. God and a close family was most important to her. Gladys is survived by her daughters Phyllis Hollinshead and Tonya Gilbeaux. Grandchildren Brandy Gilbeaux Cornell (David), Michael Hollinshead, and son-in-law Mike Hollinshead. Travis Johnson preceded her death in 1994, after 34 wonderful years of marriage. Gladys touched the lives of many. She will be truly missed by her friends and family, The family would like to thank her Concho Hearts Hospice Care Team and her caregivers who provided patience and love at Cedar Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Pilot Point, Texas.
