Gloria Barisse, a cherished presence in the lives of many, passed away at the age of 70 on August 5, 2025, in Lewes, DE. Born on March 21, 1955, in Baltimore, MD, Gloria lived a vibrant life marked by joy, service, and the laughter of those she held dear. She dedicated her life to her beloved family and is survived by her husband, Stewart Michael Barisse; her son, Stewart Michael Barisse Jr.; her sister, Debbie Villaluz; her brothers, Ronnie and Mark, Guy and Terry; her sister Linda-and all their families. Gloria was also a devoted godmother to Salina and her family. She played a meaningful and constant role in the lives of many nieces, nephews, and her wide circle of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Marie Benton. Gloria's educational journey culminated in her graduating high school, after which she entered the workforce with enthusiasm. She spent many years at Dunbar Armored, where she handled clerical duties with care, dedication, and a welcoming smile for her colleagues. Outside of work, Gloria's lively spirit came through her interests. She delighted in playing bingo with a close group of friends and enjoyed family bowling outings. She also volunteered regularly to assist seniors in her community, extending to them the same warmth and compassion she gave her loved ones. Her home was a haven filled with laughter and the gentle presence of her adored kitten, whom she cared for with tender devotion. A celebration of Gloria's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Cats About Town Society (C.A.T.S.), a no-kill, all-volunteer cat rescue group. Donations can be made online at https://catsabouttown.org.
