Ms. Gloria Jean Goode, of Saxe, VA, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.
Born on July 1, 1952, in South Boston, VA, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Henry Lambert and Evelyn Pulliam Lambert. She graduated from Randolph-Henry High School and was formerly employed by West Point Stevens. Gloria found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, gardening, and watching westerns were among her favorite pastimes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Goode Watts, and her brother, Winfred Lambert.
Gloria’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her two sons, Nathaniel Goode of Chandler, AZ, and Jonathan Goode (Terredell) of Washington, DC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Anthony Lambert (Adeline) of Quinton, VA, and Charles Henry Lambert Jr. (Josephine) of Red Oak, VA; along with a host of other devoted relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 22025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. John Craighead delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed via Shiloh Baptist Church Facebook page. Public viewing will be Friday form 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
