Gordon Southern Obituary

Gordon Carl Southern, 73, of 154 Archie Clayton Rd., died Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born in Guilford County, Mr. Southern was the son of the late Gordon Coolidge and Virginia Louise Gaither Southern. Mr. Southern was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Cole, Samuel Southern, Sr., Austin Southern, Sr., and David Southern, his sister, Linda Sue Wood, his twin siblings and his grandchild, Bentley. Mr. Southern did various work in plumbing, electrical, tree work and mechanic. He later worked for Golden Poultry but was best known for farming at Dixon Farm. He enjoyed smoking cigarettes and puzzles.
Mr. Southern is survived by his wife, Berta Alice Roach Southern; one daughter, Frances Louise Tuck; two step-children, Bruce Wayne Roach and Darlene Harris; one brother, Mark Southern; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two foster grandchildren, Asa Tuck, Jessy Tuck, Jessica Tuck, Casey Rowland, Zachary Roach, Ashley Guth, Virginia Southern, Joseph Southern and Dustin Southern; eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Wednesday February 5, 2025 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Pastor Wesley Holder. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (2-3PM).
Pallbearers will be Joseph Southern, Allen Tilley, Leon Roach, Bruce Roach, Dustin Southern and William Thaxton
