Grace Burns born in Buchanan, NY passed away on June1, 2025 at the age of 95.
Born Grace Leverich on February 18, 1930, to Ellen Powers and Arthur Leverich.
In her youth Grace was a member of The Fife and Drum Core and loved marching in parades, as well as roller skating in Peekskill.
At a young age Grace moved to Eastchester, NY to work for pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome in Tuckahoe, NY.
She married the love of her life, Edward Burns, on November 26, 1960, and they lived in Eastchester. They were married 62 years and raised three daughter Michelle, Mary Ellen, and Elizabeth.
Grace was known to be kind and fun loving always having a place at her dinner table for anyone alone on the holidays. Her daughters referred to her as The Energizer Bunny because she could outdance them whenever music came on.
After Edward passed Grace moved to The Atria Woodlands in Ardsley, NY where she met many good friends, made jewelry and enjoyed a good happy hour with her friends.
Grace will be dearly missed by her children, Michelle (Michael) Mc Allister, Mary Ellen Burns, and Elizabeth (Keith) McGowan, grandchildren, Michael Edward and Daniel McAllister and her Niece Ellen Leverich O'Brien and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Grace was predeceased by her husband Edward Burns, granddaughter Jennifer Mc Allister and Niece Shirley Roush.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. On Friday, June 7, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Church at 10 AM, following a burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
