Gregory Douglas Geis, aged 64, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, after battling an 18-day journey with advanced pancreatic cancer. Greg was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1961, to Thomas LaWayne Geis and Nancy Alice Moore. The family moved to Arkansas in the late 1960s, where Greg attended Sylvan Hills High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1984. He married Aurora Ortega Geis in 1995 and had two children. After 22 years of faithful service at AT&T, Greg retired in 2022.

Greg loved being outside landscaping, hiking, or with a book, often with the family cat, Charlie, in his lap. He was a family man above all else, and a cherished friend, described as a hero, solid, calm, cool, collected, and amazing. Greg enjoyed thrillers, crime, political, and military novels. His hobbies included reading, traveling, and all things Fox News. An astonishing marksman, he was known for his good shot, occasionally hunting duck, quail, and armadillos.

When relaxing, Greg enjoyed a good steak, Willamette Valley Wine, and Angels Envy Bourbon. After receiving a baseball scholarship, he could be found following any baseball game on television. He enjoyed watching old westerns and Tom Cruise movies, especially Top Gun, Mission Impossible, and the Jason Bourne series.

He was extraordinarily proud of his son for joining the U.S. Army Reserve in 2024 and his daughter for earning her BA from the University of Wyoming. Friends remember Greg as a hero and always saw him with a smile. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Aurora, children, Amarissa and Grayson, twin sister Gretchen, younger sister Lea Ann, and five nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oak Hills Church - Crownridge Campus, South Room, 19595 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments will follow for friends and family. Please consider a donation in memory of Gregory D. Geis to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research at www.lustgarten.org.
