Gustavo Corral Esparza of Los Corrales, Durango, Mexico and longtime resident of Cicero, age 72. Beloved husband of Irma Corral Montenegro; loving father of Liliana Trujillo, Lizeth Lamourt and Jessica; proud grandfather of Benjamin, Ethan and Michael.
Gustavo was born on April 3, 1953, and passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. In his later years, Gustavo faced the challenges of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease with grace and quiet strength. Though Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s slowly took parts of him and his memories, they could never dim the fire that made him who he was. His journey through these illnesses was a testament to the resilience of the human heart and a reminder to cherish each moment with those we hold dear.
Family and friends will be received at the Sourek Manor Funeral Home 5635 S. 35th Street, Cicero, Il. 60804. Monday, July 7 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Gustavo will be laid to rest at St. Casimir Cemetery 4401 W 111th Street, Chicago Il 60655 on Tuesday, July 8.
Gustavo nació el 3 de abril de 1953 y falleció en paz en su casa el sábado 28 de junio de 2025, rodeado del amor de su familia. En sus últimos años, Gustavo afrontó los retos del Alzheimer y el Parkinson con gracia y serena fortaleza. Aunque el Alzheimer y el Parkinson le arrebataron poco a poco parte de su ser y de sus recuerdos, nunca pudieron apagar el fuego que le hacía ser quien era. Su viaje a través de estas enfermedades fue un testimonio de la resistencia del corazón humano y un recordatorio para apreciar cada momento con nuestros seres queridos.
La familia y los amigos serán recibidos en Sourek Manor Funeral Home 5635 S. 35th Street, Cicero, Il. 60804. Lunes, 7 de julio de 3:00 pm a 8:00 pm. Gustavo será enterrado en el cementerio de San Casimiro 4401 W 111th Street, Chicago Il 60655 el martes 8 de julio.
