Guy Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Appleton on Feb. 20, 2026.
Guy O. Johnson, age 90, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Aspire Senior Living in Kimberly. Guy was born in Appleton on May 7, 1935, to the late Julius O. and Elizabeth (Neuberger) Johnson.

Guy attended Appleton schools, and then in 1953, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea and Alamogordo, New Mexico. On April 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Beverly Berghuis at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. He worked for many years at J. O. Johnson, Inc. Following retirement, Guy enjoyed motorcycles (AMA life member) and photography. After their three sons graduated high school, Guy and Bev spent time enjoying their cabin in Lakewood and seeing the United States on their Harley (Hog 42). Guy enjoyed shooting - especially skeet shooting and was named one of the top 30 skeet shooters in the nation.

He is survived by his wife Bev; sons Chris (Juanene), Mike (Nancy), and Dean (Laurette); grandchildren Justin (Ashley), Jeremy (Caitlin), Spencer (Jordon), Alicia (Jostan), Paige (Brett), Schuyler (Jessica), and Laurissa (Ben); several great grandchildren; brother James Johnson; brother-in-law Norbert Luebke. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Elizabeth, in-laws William and Anna Berghuis, granddaughter Danielle and sisters-in-law Sally Johnson and Charlotte Luebke.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Thursday, February 26, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Bristol Hospice and the nursing staff at Aspire for the compassionate care given to Guy.

As kids me and my brothers would visit them at their cabin great grandpa. He would drive us in Atv down to the creek and we would feed the fish cracked corn. I wish Benjamin would of been able to meet his great great grandpa.
