Age 93 of Inver Grove Heights, MN
Passed away peacefully and into the loving arms of Jesus on August 3, 2025.
Harlan was born in New Leipzig, ND, on May 19, 1932 to Carl and Elma Dubs. He graduated from New Leipzig High School, later drafted into the US Army in 1952 serving in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He attended Northern State College, Aberdeen SD and obtained a BS Degree with Honors.
Harlan's career started with Swift & Co. in Watertown, SD where he met his wife Priscilla and was married. His company later transferred him to South St. Paul, MN. When the plant closed in 1963, Harlan found himself starting a new career in the service station business. He would later go on to own and operate the Mobile service station (later Union 76) in Inver Grove Heights until his retirement in 1994.
Harlan was a humble hard worker and instilled this trait into his three daughters, whom he cherished deeply. He also loved his community. Harlan was a longtime active member of the IGH Lions Club. He could always be found serving at the annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast as well as supporting local fundraising events. His love for his church was equally strong; serving on the Church Council, being an usher, and in his later years working on the volunteer cleaning crew. Harlan even took on his last job of "paper boy" delivering papers to his neighboring friends at Timber Hills, a job he enjoyed until his passing.
Harlan's joy was being on the course playing golf with his buddies, which he was blessed to do until the age of 92. When golf season was over, you could find him being his grandkids "biggest fan" at their various sports. Everyone loved seeing him in the stands, including other players/parents. He was a loyal fan to his grandkids.
Harlan's life was one of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father William Iblings, and his brother-in-law, Delmar Intveld. He is survived by his three loving daughters, Renee Dubs Ellena (Andy), Kathy and Kim (Mick) McClure; 5 grandchildren, Grant (Andrea) Ellena, Carter (Julia) Ellena, Sydney (Darcy) Kuemper, Andrew McClure, MaKenna Dubs-Bidon; 6 great-grandchildren and siblings Marj Intveld and Bob (Delora) and nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the nurses and aides of Westwood Ridge Transitional Care Unit and Our Lady of Peace Community Hospice for their support and loving care of Harlan.
Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave. E., Inver Grove Heights, MN, 10 AM visitation, 11:00 AM service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to be made to Presbyterian Homes Foundation and Disabled American Veterans.

With fond memories of my favorite friends dad who was so full of integrity and opinions - the combo lead to some pretty funny remarks! He was always full of smiles and positive light, definitely qualities he passed down! He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. Pat and Nancy
