Harold Edward Williams was born December 8, 1938, in Arkansas the son of Leo and Dora (Paris) Williams. Shortly after, the family moved to New Jersey where he spent his childhood with his siblings.
In 1955, at the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps. During his 23 year career in the Marine Corps, he was proud of his skill as an aircraft mechanic and served two tours in Vietnam. Harold was honorably discharged in 1978, having achieved the rank of Master Sargeant.
In 1970, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Jessen. They were blessed with two children, Tim and Theresa. Known to his east coast family as Ed, and to the rest of the world as Willie, he was always the center of attention and the life of the party. It is believed that he is currently holding a beer asking St. Peter, "So how's your sense of humor?" Dean, Ronnie, JB, Renegade, Denny, and Barry are waiting on him for a game of Sheepshead or Buck Eucre and I'm sure his sisters and brothers are shaking their heads.
Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn of De Graff; son, Tim (Cindy) Williams of Deer Park, WI; daughter, Theresa Smith (Lynn Olson) of De Graff; brother, Larry (Denice) Williams of North Bergen, NJ; grandchildren: Mattea Brendemuehl (Casey Multhaup) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Brett Brendemuehl of Kerkhoven; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dora; siblings: Louise, Leonard, Marion, Eva, Helen, Donald, John, Francis, Vernon Lee and Ruth; parents-in-law, Herman and Maude Jessen; and his granddaughter, Brianna Mae Williams.
