Harry E. Baum, of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Dennis and Brewster, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with leukemia. He was the devoted husband of Melinda S. Baum, with whom he shared many joyful years.
Born in Durham, North Carolina, Harry was a gifted man of many talents and warmhearted spirit. He was the son of the late Harry and Mary (née Nicholson) Baum and was predeceased by his brother, Charles, and sister, Eleanor. He is lovingly survived by his brother, Richard Baum of Spencer, MA; his niece, Jessica Baum Gardner and her children of Lowell, MA; and his sister-in-law, Charlene Garner of Bonita Springs, FL. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Harry spent over five decades as an auto mechanic, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike for his skill and honesty. In addition to his work under the hood, he was a professional musician who touched many lives with his love of music, generously sharing his gift and inspiring others along the way.
A man of great joy and whimsy, Harry took on the beloved role of Santa Claus, brightening countless holidays with his cheerful spirit and twinkling eyes. His portrayal brought magic and joy to children and adults year after year.
Harry was also a lifelong Disney fan, first enchanted in 1986. He made countless trips to the parks, creating treasured memories by sharing his love of Disney with friends and family through many magical adventures.
