Harry Gray Obituary

Harry Allen Gray Jr., age 76, of Temple passed from this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Harry was born on the 3rd day of August 1949 in El Paso, Texas, at Fort Bliss Military Hospital to his parents Harry Allen Gray and Margaret Marie Bantel Gray.

Harry graduated from Nelson County High School in Lovingston, Virginia in 1968. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He served 19 months in Vietnam. Harry retired as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for JDK Services in Salado and Belton in 2024.

Harry married Ida Sue Schrank on January 6, 2001, in Belton, Texas. They shared 8 children between them.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Harry Allen Gray and Margaret Marie Bantel-Gray-Taylor, Stepfather Cecil Taylor and Sister-In-Law Becky Gray all of Virginia, stepson Charlie Lee Finto of Buckholts, Nephew Stedman Gray and Great Nephew Zach Barbour both from Virginia, and his first wife Linda Gray of Temple.

Harry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Sue Gray of Temple, two brothers, Mike Gray and wife Julie and Marshal Gray of Shipman, Virginia, four daughters, Elsie Gray, Patricia McMean both of Temple, Margie Rios of Stonewall, Sheila Wooley and husband Mitchel of Holland, three sons, Raymond Parsons and wife Tara of Belton, K-Bob Standridge and Thomas Finto both of Temple, as well as 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heights Baptist Church in Temple on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:30 P.M.
