Harry Eugene McAlister, Sr. (AKA – Dad, Paw Paw Mac and Gramps) age 81, lifelong resident of Electra, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Punkin Center.

A come and go memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Electra Community Church. Honoring Harry's wishes, there will be no formal service and his ashes will be spread in New Mexico by his family. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Harry was born November 10, 1943 in Electra, Texas, to the late William Harrison McAlister and Gynal Louise Campbell McAlister.

He was a 1962 graduate of Electra High School. After high school, Harry attended a technical school where he received his Drafting Certification. He also served six years in the Texas National Guard.

Harry married Linda Kaye Daughtrey on June 11, 1965 and they shared a wonderful thirty-six years together. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2001.

He again found happiness when he married Barbara Grace Tigert Lalk on August 3, 2002.

Harry spent twenty-six years as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service. Prior to that, he worked at C.E. Natco in the 70's, while also working at Lake Road Implement as a lead mechanic. In the late 80's, he moved on to open his own mechanic shop at his home, H & K Garage, where he thrived until 2002. In 2002, he rebranded his shop to be named Mac's Garage. Harry served many farmers and friends in the local community, servicing all types of vehicles.

He was an avid craftsman who could build most anything he set out to. There are a countless number of Harry's famous jar openers mounted under cabinets all throughout Electra. Harry was also known for his beautiful craftsmanship in turning wood; making pens, bowls and other various wood pieces. Among the special pieces he made, were the doll beds for his granddaughter and great-granddaughters. He was a member of the Electra Community Church.

Harry is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Barbara McAlister of the home; one son, Harry McAlister, Jr. of Springtown, Texas; two daughters, Sheri Blankenship and husband, Jared of Hereford, Texas and Kimberly Montgomery and husband, Clay of Hedley, Texas; three grandchildren, Bryson McAlister, Lang Blankenship and wife, Taylor and Lanae Blankenship; two great-grandchildren, Brier McAlister and Brooks Blankenship; three brothers, Amos McAlister and wife, Barbara, Albert McAlister and wife, Sue and Terry McAlister and wife, Pat; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Daughtrey and Doyle Daughtrey and wife, Rosa; two sisters-in-law, Penny Ivy and husband, Mark and Annell McAlister; his extended family, Randy Lalk and wife, Jeannie, and their children, Kevin Lalk, Ryan Lalk and wife, Romela, and their children, Christopher and Conner, Steve Lalk and wife, Sheri, and their daughter, Ginnie Holmes and husband, Layne, and their son, Clayton, Cathy DuMouchel and husband, Louie, and Cathy's daughter, Emily Stodghill and husband, Ian, and their children, Paisley and Carli; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond McAlister and Larry McAlister and his wife, Linda McAlister; and one sister, Glinda Louise McAlister.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Electra Community Church, 1210 North Bailey Street, Electra, Texas 76360 or Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
