Harvey E. Petska, age 96, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the family residence where he was born and lived his entire life.
Harvey was born on September 27, 1927 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Edward and Alvina Cherney Petska. Harvey was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. He was employed at Manitowoc Equipment Works for 38 years retiring in December 1990. On June 24, 1950 he married Delores Becker at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Harvey was Mess Sargeant in Company E, 127th Infantry, National Guard in Manitowoc. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Manitowoc Men's Garden Club, and TPA. Harvey loved the outdoors enjoying gardening, wild life, and spending time with his black labs.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Delores, one son, Gerald (Lynn) Petska, Wausau, two daughters, Christine (Joe) Verbrigghe, Shawano and Ann Regalia, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Becky Petska, Ryan (Faith) Petska, Ronda (Marc) Stevens, Reed (Bridgete) Nelson, Tony Regalia; 7 great grandchildren, along with other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alvina Petska, stepfather, Edward Wirtz, and one son-in-law, Kevin Regalia.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home in Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Jason Blahnik. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow with burial of his cremated remains to take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc at a later date.
