Helen Marie Chapman, age 81 of Carrollton passed away June 21, 2025 at her residence. She was born October 23, 1943 in Haypress, the daughter of Arthur and Lura Wilhilmy Price. She married Floyd Stiller and he preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Curt Chapman and he preceded her in 2013.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Stiller (companion Bobbi) of Carrollton, two grandchildren, Justin Stiller (Caylin), Hayden Hewitt, two great grandchildren, Curtis and Jaxon, three sisters, Betty (Larry) Morrow of Staunton, Connie James of Jerseyville, Ruth Ann Henricksen of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter, Arthur, Edward, Stella, and Carol Price, Evelyn Dale, Fannie McCormick, Kate Newingham, Margie Inman, Leta Kelly, and Karen Niffen
Helen worked at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton for many years. She dedicated most of her life to the service of others. She loved children and caring for her nieces and nephews. She also loved her longtime friend, Barb and her children who lovingly referred to her as aunt Helen. She enjoyed sharing her home with her son, Joe and all the time they spent together. She took pleasure in visiting and receiving calls from her friends and family; reading and playing games with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial to follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
