Helen McNally Obituary

Sr. Helen McNally died peacefully in her room at Meadowview, Wartburg with Sr. Helen Hofmann praying with her. Sister was born in Astoria, Queens, Long Island to John and Helen Looram McNally. She entered the Srs. of Francis, Hastings on September 8, 1946 and was finally Professed on July 14, 1952.
Sister received a BS in Education and professional Diploma in Urban Studies from Fordham University as well as MS in Education/Counseling at St John's University. She also earned a License for Teaching and Principalship in the NY City school system.
Sister Helen was a teacher and Principal at St Aloysius Mt Loretto as well as Educational coordinator and Title One Administrator at Mt Loretto. She held several positions at St Joseph by the Sea H.S on Staten Island as Guidance Counselor, Dean of Students and Director of Programming for Teachers and students at a school with well over a thousand students.
Sister is pre-deceased by her parents, sisters Sally and Kathleen and a brother John. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Walsh of Brick, N.J and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 20, at 10am at St. Catherine's Church, Pelham. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
