Helen Smith Obituary

Helen Patricia Smith, lovingly known to all as Granny, age 82, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away on June 30, 2025. Helen was born in Columbus, Georgia on October 3, 1942, and was raised in Marietta, Georgia. She married her late husband Robert A. Smith on November 26, 1963. Together they welcomed their only child, Lisa on July 2, 1965.
In 1973, Helen and Bob moved to Bradenton, Florida where Helen had a long and dedicated career, working as an Administrative Assistant for both the State of Florida and Manatee County Utilities. She retired in 2002 after more than three decades of public service.
After Bob's passing in 2000, Helen remained in their Bradenton home until 2005 upon which she moved to Pasco County to be closer to her daughter and Grand Daughters.
Helen is preceded in death by her mother Minnie Day; adoptive mother Ethel Watson; her brothers Clyde Watson and JC Watson; and her devoted husband of 36 years, Robert A. Smith.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Wallace, and her two beautiful granddaughters Courtney Wallace and Shilo Wallace whom she loved dearly. Helen also had many others which she considered chosen family who will feel her absence deeply.
At this time the family has chosen for private services. Though Helen is no longer with us her spirit will live on in the strong, beautiful women she leaves behind in her memory.
