Mr. Darity, born in Danville, GA, had lived in Lynn Haven Nursing Home in Gray, Georgia since February 2024. He was the son of the late Hembree Lonnie Darity, Sr. and Mary Launa Fowler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Geraldine "Gerri" Smith Darity and his brother, Donald Ray "Duck" Darity. Lonnie was a farmer for 25 years, and a former employee of Nord Kaolin, Robins Maintenance, and Oconee EMC. He also owned Lonnie's Appliance Repair in Danville, Georgia before retiring due to health issues in 2019. He was Primitive Baptist.
Survivors are his children, Lisa Darity (Billy Lyles) Culp of Danville, GA, Bobbi Jo (Tim) Crosby of Macon, GA, Lori (Blake) Fullington of Gray, GA and David (Pam) Haviland of Cochran, GA; six grandchildren James (Rebecca Reid) Culp of Cochran, GA, Nick Culp of Danville, GA, Shelby (Bo) Wright of Gray, GA, Colby (Angelica Giardina)Haviland of Cochran, GA, Alexcis (Nick Moss )Elmore and Grier (Cason Taylor)Elmore of Gray, GA and nine great grandchildren; his companion, Peggy Woodard of Dudley, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3220 Cool Springs Rd, Danville, GA 31017.
