Despite the hardships he faced, Henry never gave up on himself or others. He self-educated himself on judicial laws and became a passionate advocate for justice and freedom, using his knowledge to inspire, guide, and fight for the rights of others who found themselves in similar situations. Though he was unjustly imprisoned for over 50 years, Henry's courage and determination remained unshaken.
Even in most difficult circumstances, Henry's heart for helping others shined through. His passing was deeply impacted by the lack of adequate care he received while incarcerated, particularly after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Bo-Billy's life was a testament to strength, perseverance, and an unyielding hope for justice. He will be remembered not only for his resilience but also for the love and light he shared with all who knew him.
Henry "Bo-Billy" Gorham Jr. is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy and Henry Gorham Sr., and a brother, Marcus Deering.
Bo-Billy leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Christopher Thompson; his brothers, Melvin Vincent (Veronica), and Joe S. Gorham (Angela); his sisters, Mary Alice Gorham, Alberta Gorham-Grimes, and Dasie M. Gorham-Lewis (Recardo). God-sister, Lisa Whitehead, 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives, and friends.
