July 20, 1936 – July 16, 2025 Rosendale - Henry Joseph Jordan, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, just days before his 89th birthday. Born on July 20, 1936, Henry was the beloved son of Henry Jordan Sr. and Helen Jordan. He was a devoted brother to Patrick Jordan, Margaret Draminski, and Carol Hunter. Henry shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Frances Jordan. Together they raised three sons: Thomas Jordan (Scott Afrow), Kevin Jordan (Erica Jordan), and the late Scott Jordan, who remained close in spirit through his lifelong bond with his best friend Susan Jordan. Henry was deeply proud of his grandchildren-Erin, Riley, Emma, Allison, and Mackenzie Jordan-who were the true lights of his life. A lifelong numbers man, Henry had a brilliant mind for mathematics and a distinguished career in banking, serving as CFO and guiding several institutions through complex mergers and IPOs. Beyond the boardroom, Henry had a deep love for golf and conversation, both of which he enjoyed as a longtime member of the Stone Dock Golf Club in High Falls. Henry had a warmth and charisma that drew people in. He was a friend to many and a constant source of love and support to his family. Above all, he was cherished most dearly by his wife Frances and their close-knit family. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 AM Monday July 21, 2025 at St. Peters Church, Keator Ave., Rosendale. Interment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. I was fortunate enough to have played Golf with Mr. Jordan at Stone Dock and witness his hole in one on the third hole. Our foursome went looking for Mr. Jordan's golf ball since the green was elevated from the tee box and we lost sight of it. After several minutes, someone suggested he look for his ball in the hole. There it was in the hole! Mr. Jordan was speechless, although he was quite most of the time. As the fact of a hole in one sunk in, he became excited and laughed aloud (I think he did a little Irish dance in celebration). Good times, lots of fun and friendship abound. So long Henry (Hank). I am so sorry to learn of "Hank's" passing. I've known him since I was a teenager and we spent so much time playing softball and basketball on Tilden St in Port Ewen, and watching TV evenings with his family. He chauffered us in his beautiful convertible when I, married in 1960 and in more recent years, we would occasionally play golf together at Stone Dock! Hank was a lifelong friend and a truly loving husband, father, and granddad! I wish I had gotten an opportunity to say goodbye! Rest in the arms of our Lord my friend, and my deepest condolences to Fran, Patrick, Betty, Carole, and all the other family members!!
