Mr. Herman Williams, 77, of Texarkana, passed Monday, June 30, 2025, in Texarkana,
Mr. Williams was born in Ashdown, AR, to the late Macie and Elverna McElroy Williams on December 23, 1947. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and declared his faith by being baptized at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. Upon graduating from the Little River County Training School. Herman was drafted into the United States Army as an infantryman and served in the Vietnam War for one year. After serving his country for two years, he attended Agricultural, Mechanical, and Normal College (University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff). Herman had started his career at LoneStar Army Ammunition Plant and Nekoosa (Paper Mill), and he retired from a career at Red River Army Depot.
Herman married Linda Joyce Knight in Ashdown, AR, on April 21, 1978.
He had 5 children: Kevin Hubbard, Delicia O'guinn, Brian Lamell Williams, Herman Williams, Jr., and Mary Elzada Williams.
He was a member of several organizations and clubs that served the community within the area, such as the International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Eagles Motorcycle Club.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Macie and Elverna Williams and siblings, Juanita Williams-Davis and Major (Wanda Ann) Williams, Sr.
He is survived by his brothers Therman Williams, Sr. (Twin), Darrell (Donna) Williams, Michael Williams and sisters Levolia (James) Williams-Bruce, Lora Williams-Covington, Jeanette (Tyrone) Williams-Dean, Lurlean (Jackie) Williams-Montgomery.
Herman also has ten grandchildren and a host of nephews, niece, and great-nephews and nieces.
