Hoke Henry Eberhardt, Jr. of Cleveland, Texas, entered eternal rest on July 3, 2025, at the age of 57. He was born on March 7, 1968, in Houston, Texas, to Hoke Henry Eberhardt Sr. and Sharon Jobbe Eberhardt, who both precede him in death. Hoke's life was marked by his unwavering love and loyalty for his family and a deep passion for the outdoors.
Hoke is remembered fondly by his loving and caring wife, Shannon Pugh Eberhardt. He cherished his role as a husband to Shannon and as a father to Blake Eberhardt and his wife Madi, Cody Eberhardt and his wife Arista, Alex Davis and his wife Jamie, and Sarah-Michelle Critchfield who he affectionately called "The Baby!". His grandchildren, Peyton, Anabelle, Ava, Pierceson, Josie, Hazel, and Mazie, were a significant source of joy in his life, and he took great pride in being their grandfather. Hoke is also survived by his sisters, Jhonne Hill-Eberhardt and Sue Schuetz, along with her husband Howie. Hoke is also survived by his three nephews: John Eberhardt, Anthony Eberhardt and his wife Cassandra, and Phillip Bowers; a niece Nicole Dennis and her husband Martell; seven great-nephews: Matthew, Anthony, Ethan, Logan, Aidan, Bryson, and Carter; a great-niece Danika and a great-great nephew Thomas. Hoke is preceded in death by his sister, Tina Bowers Eberhardt and a granddaughter, Maddie Davis.
An avid outdoorsman, Hoke found immense satisfaction in boating, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and driving fast cars. His adventurous spirit and love for nature endeared him to many and left lasting impressions on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Hoke’s life will be honored with a funeral service on August 2, 2025, at Cleveland’s First Baptist Church, located at 300 W Hanson St, Cleveland, TX 77327. The service will commence at 10:00 AM, and a burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
