Hollis Ramsey was born on April 25, 1932 in Jackson County, TN and passed away at his residence in the Burristown Community of Jackson County on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the age of 93.

Hollis was the son of James Knox Polk Ramsey and Clara Almedia Hensley Ramsey. He was a member of member of the Burristown Church of Christ and a retired employee of Nielsen and Bainbridge manufacturing company in Gainesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Victoria Ramsey who passed away on Nov. 30, 2010; son, Alan Ramsey; daughter, Joan Biggs; grandson, Matthew Hill, brother, James Ramsey, sisters, Velsie Johnson, Nadine Chrisman, Dois Chrisman, Jewell Lumpford, Agnes Wray and Lassie Oliver.

Survived by: son Glen (Deborah) Ramsey of Gainesboro TN; daughter Clara Jane Richardson of Gainesboro TN; sisters Linda Faye Williams of Lebanon TN, Sue (Jerry) Spivey of McMinnville TN; grandchildren Deanna (Chris) Lilly, Tammy Coffman, Brian Biggs , Christy Biggs, Natasha (Clint) Smith, Christopher Ramsey; 13 great grandchild and 6 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday 4-8 pm and Monday 10 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Lynn Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
