Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wallace & Wallace Inc Funeral Chapels & Crematory - Ansted on Jul. 8, 2025.
The spirit of Holly Rene Fox Tomblin returned to the Father who gave it and the Savior Who saved her on July 5th, 2025 after an extended battle with cancer. Holly was the wife of Michael Shane Tomblin of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and the mother of Samuel Aaron Tomblin (of Clearfield), Gabriel Elias Tomblin (of Clearfield), and Hannah Josephine Tomblin (of Clearfield). She was also the mother-in-law of Jessica Harshbarger Tomblin (of Clearfield). Holly was the daughter of the late Alan Fox of
Ansted, WV and Wilma Cole Fox of
Ansted, WV. Holly's brother, James Allen Fox resides in Prichard, WV.
Holly was possessed of a fierce and determined spirit that carried her through many challenges and roles in life. She received her high school diploma from Midland Trail High School in 1985. In that fall, she began her baccalaureate studies at Marshall University, graduating with a degree in Advertising in 1990 from the School of Journalism. Holly excelled at all of her endeavors, starting with a job at the Wayne News in Wayne, WV, where she also served as an editor for an equestrian publication. Although her subsequent roles were varied, the ones of which she was most proud were her position as bookkeeper for A&W Sanitation in
Ansted, WV, Chef at Huntington's Kitchen in Huntington, WV, owner and operator of A Southern View Café and Catering Company in Guyandotte, WV, and as a certified realtor in the Carlisle, PA area. Even after she became ill, she managed to start an online book sales business. Holly was unstoppable once she set her mind to something.
Above all that, what was dearest to her heart was being a Christian in the Baptist tradition, being a mother, and being a wife. Holly was formerly a member of Elmwood Baptist Church in Barboursville, WV, before moving to Pennsylvania. Holly gave birth to three wonderful children whom she loved with all of her soul, stopping external work for a time to care for her children and home. Because of her love and guidance, each of her children has the same drive and spirit she possessed, and each is proving successful in their varied pursuits. Although she ultimately lost, she fought cancer with a will and determination as much or more for her family's sake as for herself. Lastly, she was an exceptional wife. She and her husband were essentially inseparable since meeting at Marshall University. They shared the same thoughts, feelings and interests on most things. She was the guide of the home, the voice of reason, and the anchor and rock upon which her husband depended so much and will be so lost without.
