Homer LeSueur Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 28 to Jul. 30, 2025.
Homer Grady LeSueur, known affectionately to all as Homer, was a beacon of light and strength, whose earthly journey commenced on Christmas Day of 1924 in Notasulga, Alabama born to the late Howard and Lidia LeSueur. Homer passed naturally on July 25, 2025, in Neosho, Missouri surrounded by the love of his family and the grace of God. Homer was a man whose life was a testament to love, hard work, and faith. He was the cherished father of Michael LeSueur and his wife, Jolynn, of Neosho, Missouri. His legacy extends through his brother, William Larry LeSueur and wife Debora of Centre, Alabama, and he adored his grandchildren, Traci Scheppert, Heather Putney, Michelle LeSueur, and Justin LeSueur, not to mention the numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit. His nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Angela and Brandon will also remember their uncle's enduring kindness and wisdom. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his sisters Teresa and Evie Ruth, and his wives, Jackie Morain White and Mary Jo Banks, both of whom he loved deeply and who left this world before him. Homer's professional life was marked by his dedication to construction, where he not only built structures but also a reputation for reliability and excellence. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country with honor during World War II. His service was a reflection of his unwavering patriotism and his commitment to the values of courage and integrity. A devout Christian, Homer's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. His love for the Lord was evident in every church he helped build and every soul he led to Christ. His life was a living example of his belief, as he demonstrated the love of Jesus through his actions, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement. His interests in hunting and fishing were more than hobbies; they were opportunities for contemplation and communion with God's creation. Homer's life could be summed up in the words of the Apostle Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7). He fought for what was right, finished his earthly duties with grace, and kept his faith steadfast until the end. Homer Grady LeSueur's journey on earth may have concluded, but his spirit soars in the hearts of those he touched. His memory will be a guiding light, a reminder to live with purpose, to love without reservation, and to serve both God and humanity with the fullness of one's heart. Farewell, dear Homer, until we meet again in the glory of our eternal home. Graveside services for Homer will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri. Pastor Marilyn O'Brien will officiate.
