Howard Pelletier Obituary

South Berwick - Howard Everett Pelletier, 87, of Rollinsford, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Dover, NH following a short illness. Born August 31, 1937, in South Berwick, he was the son of the late Everett Pelletier and Harriet (Sargent) Pelletier.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Howard served his country with honor and was a man of deep faith and service. He was a devoted member of the Free Baptist Church in South Berwick for 40 years and served as a deacon for many of those years. It was there that he formed strong bonds with fellow parishioners. He also found great joy riding his motorcycle alongside his sons and friends from church.
Howard spent his career as a dedicated mold maker at Davidson Rubber, but his true passions included woodworking, vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting and chopping wood. He also enjoyed archery and had the unique gift of water dowsing. Later in life, he found his love for wood carving. He was often sharing his latest carvings with family and friends. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In quieter moments, he enjoyed birdwatching at his feeders and making his famous chowders.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla (Rainey) Pelletier of 67 years, and their six children: Donald Pelletier of Dover, Diane Mitchell of East Wakefield, Dana Pelletier of Dover, Dale Pelletier and his wife Christine of Nashua, Dean Pelletier of Rollinsford, and Darlene Pelletier of Rollinsford. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Donald Pelletier (Krissy), Isaac Pelletier (Tiffany), Joel Mitchell (Andrea), Jillian DeVries, and Danielle Anastasi (Mike), along with nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his brothers Lloyd and Ronald Pelletier; and son-in-laws, Keith Mitchell and Peter Fletcher.
A man of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his faith and family, Howard will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are called to visit on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 5 PM – 7 PM at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St in South Bewick. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Free Baptist Church, 340 Main St in South Berwick, with a reception to follow.
