Elaine Moser Obituary
Elaine Ruth (Johnson) Moser was born on May 1, 1931, in Lime Springs, Iowa to Kasper Stewart and Nora Jeannetta (Hoines) Johnson. Elaine graduated from Cresco High School in 1949. After high school, Elaine worked at Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) in Cresco. From 1975 through 1996 Elaine worked full time for Howard Winneshiek Community Schools. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Elaine was a lifelong member of Saetersdal Lutheran Church where she was confirmed and married. On May 4, 1951, Elaine married Walter William "Bill" Moser.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Drew) Flathmann of North Oaks, Minnesota; son, John Moser of Lime Springs, Iowa; granddaughter, Lisa (Eric) Mahr; grandson, Reed (Erin) Flathmann; 5 great-grandchildren: Alli, Audrey and Avery Mahr and Ricky and Molly Flathmann; her siblings, Lavonne Biel and Bev (Bob) Warnke; Bill's siblings, Dean (Shirley) Moser and Louise Meyer, along with many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter William "Bill", sister, Kathleen (Kenny) Rigdon; brothers-in law, Stan Biel, Bob (Marcie) Moser and Jeff Moser; sisters-in law, Ruth Moser, Phyllis (Harold) Steinmetz and Marjorie (Paul) Mohlis.
Services will be held at Saetersdal Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025, in Harmony, Minnesota with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Immediately following services burial will take place in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Howard County Community Hospice, Saetersdal Lutheran Church or Saetersdal Cemetery Association.
