On July 2, 2025, Ida Velma Shaw told the Lord, "I am ready to come home." So, God sent her angel to usher her into the Kingdom so she could join her husband, Deacon Rufus Shaw of 62 years.

She was born on May 5, 1931, to the late Alex and Charlotte McDonald of Waynesboro, MS. She joined the Pineville M.B Church at a young age and served until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She was a very loving Mother of four children, one proceeded her in death. Luther Donald Shaw of Waynesboro, Ms. Deacon Ray A. (Bama) Shaw of Mobile, Ala, Eunice N. Jordan of Waynesboro, Ms., Sherry D. Shaw of Auburn, Alabama and a very special and loving Grandson, Andre La 'Cory Jordan her right hand until her untimely death.

She had 11 siblings, four proceeded her in death: The late Alex McDonald Jr., Joe Willie McDonald, Robert George McDonald, Mary Powe. She leaves to cherish her memory. Keary Lee (Willie Mae) McDonaid, Clifford E (Annie F) McDonald, Sarah Mayfield all of Waynesboro, MS, Reather (Dwayne) Koerperich,of Laurel, MS, Ruthie B. Moss Gary, IN, and Mable (Mack) Dawkins Columbus ,MS; One Sister- in -Law Beatrice Robinson Waynesboro, MS, and another special sister in law, Mary L. McDonald, also of Waynesboro, MS. A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Step-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Pineville MB Church, with Pastor Samuel C. Newton as the officiant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The viewing periods will take place Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home, and Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Pineville MB Church, prior to the funeral.
